We woke up this morning to a thin blanket of snow on the ground. This is fairly unusual for Vancouver– we only see snow a handful of times a year and even then it is not very much and does not stick around long.
Neither the dogs nor I are terribly impressed. This was Jersey’s first time seeing the white-stuff and it was down-right hilarious! I wish I had the presence of mind to video it. Mostly be bounded out of the apartment door as he normally does, then came to a screeching halt when he noticed all the snow on the ground. Then he creep-crawled into the snow (as if it could jump up and bite him at any time) and gave it some good, thorough and deep sniff/snorts as he made sense of it. Funny boy. The cruel part of me wanted to throw a snow-ball at him right while he was in this cautious, investigatory stage…. buuut I figured that’d be a little counter productive and would probably wind me up on The Dog Whisperer 2 years from now as the wacko Canadian lady with the crazy French Bulldog who is terrified of snow. So, I did not throw the snowball.
Oslo has seen snow before and knows the drill. Mostly he just hates to be cold & wet (You & Me both, pal!) and was not very impressed. Here are some photos of the Pig this morning:
Oh! And here he is, many moons ago, during his first Winter! Handsome devil.
