yellow ribbon

I sure wish I had known of this in the months that followed Oslo’s spinal surgery. It was so frustrating to take him cautiously outside and have other dogs try to wrestle or chase him. And, of course, the owner’s look at me like I was such a party popper when I scooped him up quickly and turned for home.

Not every dog is ready, willing or able to play or be pet. If you see a dog with a yellow-ribbon tied to the leash, it means to give that pooch extra space.

Be considerate. Be compassionate. Be respectful.
